Welcome to Spring’s Voice! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Sarah Brenton. I have a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education and special education, a Master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, and am professionally certified in trauma-informed counseling. I started Spring’s Voice as a way to provide hope, encouragement, and coaching to children who have been adopted, adoptive parents, and teachers working with students in the adoption and foster care systems.
I am a former special education teacher that now works as an instructional coach for early childhood educators. My passion for adoptive families started with my own unique family. I have three siblings that were adopted from China at 5 years old, 6 years old, and 11 years old. Our family was not complete before they arrived, and though the journey hasn’t always been easy, it has been one of the biggest blessings of my life.
Disclaimer: though I am certified in trauma-informed counseling and child counseling, I do not hold a license in counseling. My background is primarily in education as a teacher and instructional coach. The coaching services I provide are not meant to replace sessions with a licensed therapist, but are meant to serve as a first step or an additional step in a child’s adoption process, the parent’s adjustment process, or teacher’s journey navigating challenging students and behavior. I don’t claim to be an expert, but rather an understanding and informed educator.
